Aquatics ProgramThis exciting 10 day program is held on a 50 foot sailboat in the beautiful British Virgin Islands. Students live aboard the yacht as they travel from island to island, exploring each location both above and below the water. Activities include learning the fundamentals of sailing, Open Water Scuba Diver certification, snorkeling, and leadership skill building. The Aquatics Program introduces students to the underwater realm through the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) Open Water Diver course. Successful completion of this course prepares divers to plan and conduct dives independently of professional supervision with fellow divers worldwide. It also opens the door to take advanced diving courses such as Advanced Open Water Diver and incredible specialties including Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver, Night Diver, Underwater Navigator and many more! Students attending this program learn the fundamentals of sailing as they journey from location to location throughout the numerous islands of the BVI. Students take turns navigating, steering, raising, lowering and trimming sails, mooring, docking, anchoring and more. Students earn their Open Water Scuba Diver certification which is recommended for one college credit by the American Council on Education. As in every program, students are involved in many leadership skill building activities throughout their stay.
